It is important that we hold accurate and up-to-date information for all our students who have medical concerns. If your child has a medical concern, please ensure that you keep us informed of any updates, by completing the form below.  If your child does not have a medical concern, please do not  fill out this form.

Appointments and referrals:

To make an appointment please contact the School Nurse, Simone Storer-Wharton, by email here, or on: 07917 517126.

Referrals: Teachers, Heads of Student Progress, Pastoral Leads or another health professional may also ask the School Nurse to review students health.

If you need to contact the School Nursing team during the school holidays, please call The City School Nursing Team on: 01865 904225 during office hours.

The School Nursing Service is not an emergency service. If students' are in need of immediate nursing or medical help, please contact a member of staff on site who will locate a member of staff trained in first aid. If students' are off site in the case of an emergency, please call 999.

Emergency Contraception:

If students are in need of emergency contraception outside of the school nurses working hours or the school nurse is unavailable students are advised to attend their GP practice, local sexual health clinic or local pharmacy as soon as they can. Emergency contraception is most effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex. Local sexual health clinic times and contact details are displayed outside the School Nurse's office or can be accessed via www.sexualhealthoxfordshire.nhs.uk.

Examples of what the School Health Nurse can offer include:

  • Someone to talk to confidentially about health, including physical health, emotional health, sexual health and general wellbeing or any other health related topics you might like advice, information or support with.
  • Immunisations
  • Advice and support about healthy choices (e.g. preventing ill health, keeping safe, drugs, alcohol, quitting smoking, exercise, maintaining healthy growth/weight, dental health)
  • Emergency contraception, advice and support with contraception, pregnancy testing and chlamydia screening.
  • Provide teaching sessions and support teachers with delivery of PSHE.
  • Provide information and signpost to specialist services which may be able to support you.

Confidentiality:
  • The School Nursing service is confidential.  This means you can discuss personal information with us and we will not discuss it with anyone else without your permission, unless we feel that you or another may be at risk of harm. If information needs to be shared we will always try to discuss this with you first so that you know why, and what will happen.

This year all young people in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 have been offered the flu vaccine in school.

COVID vaccinations: 12-15yrs old children have been offered the Covid vaccination in schools, alongside the flu programme in schools.
