ANDREW OLUBODUN - HEAD OF DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY
I have worked at Cheney for three years and I joined as Head of Design & Technology which was a promotion for me. I have been a teacher since 2008, and before this I worked for Sainsbury’s in various management roles including product buying and logistics management.
Cheney is an excellent school to work in, as I feel very well supported by the school management, and the school has a very good team of support staff which further helps to facilitate me in my role. Ive been given many opportunities to develop as a teacher and a manager and I have been sponsored by the Head to go on a ‘Future Leaders’ course which has helped me to develop my school management skills.
There are excellent ex-curricular activities for staff, including after school tea on Fri, free gym, cricket and football clubs.
This is a very friendly school to work within and all members of staff work together to make sure every student reaches their full potential.
JUDY GLEEN - HEAD OF HUMANITIES
I joined as Assistant Head of Department in Geography and then progressed to Head of Department and now I am Head of Humanities. People within the team have made me aware of the opportunities within the school and encouraged me to think about my long term career and the different paths I could take. At the end of my first year, I was sent on a Middle Leaders course which helped me develop the skills and knowledge I needed to prepare me for leadership positions.
Cheney School highly values the progression and development of staff as it recognises staff are its most valuable asset.
