Year 9 basketball team seals win to progress into the last 8 in the country

Continued basketball success at Cheney School saw the U14 (Year 9s) team beat Beaumont School from St Albans 90-44 on Wednesday night, in the last 16 of the Basketball England Dynamik National Schools Competition. This means they progress for the first time into the last 8 in the country, following on from their success, becoming County Champions last year.

Head coach, Mr Harley said:

“This is a superb achievement and we send huge congratulations to the U14 team: Marvin V, Roberta N, Morten N, Caleb M, Basil E, Daniel K, Ayham A, Elijah K, Jack S (Injured), Arthur R and Aayan H.

This achievement follows the success of the U15 and U16 Girls basketball teams at Cheney who became County Champions this month and the U19 Girls team who became County Champions at the end of February, after beating The Cherwell School 31-23.
