Property Management Summer School in Reading

If you are interested in Property Management, this looks like a great opportunity.

I am getting in touch from Pathways to Property, part of the Reading Real Estate Foundation at Henley Business School, University of Reading. Pathways to Property is a charity funded initiative launched to raise awareness of and aspirations about the vast range of careers within the property sector.

Working with schools and students, we provide guidance and support to enable participants to learn more about the property industry. Please see below the opportunities that your students and school could get involved with:

Pathways to Property Summer School

Now in its eighth year, the Summer School is a fully funded, 4 day residential programme at the University of Reading for Year 12 students. During the week, students will attend taster lectures, go on site visits, take part in a group project and debate, learn to network with key employers in the industry and experience life on a University campus. All individuals will be provided free accommodation and food and their travel expenses to Reading will be covered. At the end of the week, if they are keen to learn more about property they can complete a funded work experience placement over October half term, have access to our e-mentoring programme, and if they choose to apply to study Real Estate and Planning at the University, can apply for a bursary up to £30,000 over three years. To date, over 600 students have attended the Summer School and 25% of these have chosen to pursue a career in property – either through studying a property related degree at University or completing a property related apprenticeship.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE SUMMER SCHOOL ARE NOW OPEN!  The 2020 Summer School will take place from 20-23 July at Henley Business School, University of Reading. Please visit https://www.henley.ac.uk/alumni/support-henley/pathways-to-property for more information.

Pathways to Property Open Online Course (OOC)

The OOC is a three week, free, online course designed by leading academics at Henley Business School to excite young people about a career in property and signpost them to resources that can support them while making the step into the industry. This course is designed for students in Year 9 and upwards and can be completed in their own time, requiring only 6 hours of study across the three weeks.

THE NEXT COURSE BEGINS ON 2nd MARCH 2020. Find out more at https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/pathways-to-property

Career Events

Pathways to Property are happy to attend school talks and/or careers fairs to promote what we do. These can be delivered by current Real Estate and Planning students at the University and/or individuals who already work in leading firms in the industry and are keen to volunteer their time to encourage young people to pursue a career in property. This would be suitable for students from Year 9 and upwards.

All of the above opportunities are fully funded by the charitable donations made to the Reading Real Estate Foundation, predominantly made by leading firms in the industry who are keen to support students from less advantaged and non-traditional backgrounds.
