Gardening for Wildlife: Keep off the Flower Beds!

This term, we will be planting and seeding some of the flower beds around the site with native (wild) and pollinator friendly plants. We have started with beds at the front of the Lane Building to the left of the entrance, where we have planted some really tough ones: teasel, giant mullein and purple toadflax. To encourage the existing plants (which are all great for wildlife) and for these young plants to get the chance to establish, is really important that you stay off all of the flower beds.

We can’t afford to put fencing around every bed, but we think you are responsible enough to stay off the beds, which are pretty muddy at this time of year anyway!

We will try and get some labels up so that you can see what we are planting, but in the meantime, here they are:
