Last Tuesday at the Ashmolean there was an exhibition, presented in French, about well renowned artist Pissarro. It was an interesting and interactive tour which especially enabled us to explore and extend our French conversational vocabulary, as the language was both sophisticated and accessible. Our guide took us around the temporary exhibition, describing the use of artistic techniques and development of styles used by Pissarro, one of France’s impressionist and neo-impressionist painters. We had the opportunity to ask questions about the art on display as well as any questions about the artist, giving us the chance to utilise our French language skills and speak in front of other people. Going to see the exhibition was informative and a great experience.
