Sixth Formers Lola and Rachel with offers to study English Literature at Cambridge University

We are delighted to report that three Cheney Sixth Formers have gained offers at Cambridge University and two have been offered places at Oxford University for next September.

Alec Stacey has an offer to read Anglo Saxon, Norse and Celtic at Cambridge University and both Rachel Goodrich Jones and Lola Pesskin have offers to read English Literature.

Currently studying History, French and English at Cheney Sixth Form, Lola is excited about the ‘supervision feedback at Cambridge, so you can progress  quickly’ and Rachel is looking forward to the ‘interesting challenge of studying medieval literature’ since the course covers English literature from 1300 to the modern day.

At Oxford University, Reem Alfayez has an offer of a place to study French and Linguistics at Worcester College, and Oliver Summerfield has an offer for Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) at St Catherine’s College.

Five offers out of twelve Oxford or Cambridge applications, were received by Cheney Sixth Formers. We commend all of our Year 13 applicants who  have offers from Universities across the UK and some who have had interviews and exams as part of the admission process.

Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Hackett, says:

“We are really excited to see our Year 13 students making plans for their next steps.  Cheney has supported well over one hundred students through the UCAS process. We have only just passed the deadline for applications but most students applied early and have already received some offers. In fact, 27 of this year’s applicants have already heard from all five of their choices. There are many hours of learning and revising to be done over the coming months but we look forward to another results day when we can congratulate our leavers on their results and University places.”
